Eighth graders design interpretive trail signs
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU)– After months of hard work, some eighth graders from Traverse City West Middle School were able to see one of their big projects come to life.
The students were chosen to design interpretive signs that you can now find along the Buffalo Ridge and Kids Creek trails.
The four signs reflect the history of the trail, landscapes and includes information about invasive species.
They were unveiled and installed Friday afternoon.
“It’s very informational for people who are visiting the property so they can learn more about what’s going on,” said Michelle Handke with Grand Traverse Stewardship Imitative.
The project was headed by the Grand Traverse Stewardship Imitative and several other partners.
