Going to the Water Summer Stewardship Series

This summer, take extra time to enjoy and appreciate all the Great Lakes region has to offer. Due to COVID-19, our summer programming will look a little different, but the message is the same…stewarding our Great Lakes. The Going to the Water Summer Stewardship Series offers opportunities for you to connect with water. Please join us through the following social distancing activities and events, videos, and programs aboard the ship (in August!). Volunteers and donors…watch your email for invites to special events just for you!


Leelanau Trail Water Hunt: Walk or bike the Leelanau Trail to find answers to the clues in this water-based scavenger hunt. Link available soon!

Family Water Healer Event: Thursday, June 18 from 10-11 am at Suttons Bay Beach Park. Join us live and socially distanced to explore the healing power of water. All ages welcome for story time, Great Lakes Watershed orientation, and written and visual expression of our personal connection to water. This event is free, but registration is required. To the Water Challenge: A virtual water challenge from July 24-31. Participants engage with water, reflect on their experience, and share on social media. More information and registration on the To the Water Challenge event page.

Going to the Water Video Series: Local celebrities share their love for water and how they care for it. Videos will be released on July 10, 17, 24, and 31.

Public Sailing Programs: Come sail with us! Public programming on the schooner Inland Seas resumes. Precautionary measures have been taken following CDC recommended guidelines.
